About Us

Part of Kensington Systems, Solspan was founded on a simple premise: to provide cost-effective, sustainable and accessible solar carport solutions for UK companies and public sector organisation looking to utilise their existing assets to generate renewable energy. With over 45 years of experience, the team behind Solspan bring their knowledge of installing large-scale structures and tight and effective project management to the growing solar carport market.

In 2024, Solspan expanded into France to meet the growing demand for solar solutions (particularly solar carports) following the implementation of the ENR Climate & Resilience law. By combining the expertise of its UK team with local French knowledge, Solspan Europe ensures high-quality solutions tailored to the French market. This close collaboration allows the company to leverage its experience while adapting to local regulations and client needs.

Solar Carport Installation at Mid Kent College

With an output of 303 kWp, three Gradasol solar carports installed at Mid Kent College provide the college with renewable electricity and hot water thanks to the photovoltaic-thermal panels on their roofs.

Covering 123 spaces in the car park, the carport installation is part of Mid Kent College's ambitious plan to become fully net zero by 2030.
